Accessibility statement
Updated November 1, 2026.
We want anyone to be able to build and download their resume with CV Builder, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or their voice. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we have done
- Everything works with the keyboard, focus is always visible and a "Skip to content" link sits at the top.
- Fields, buttons and dialogs have names for screen readers, and messages such as "File downloaded" are announced.
- Colors have at least 4.5:1 contrast, in both the light and dark themes.
- The site follows your system's request to reduce motion.
- The PDF and Word resumes have real headings and lists that screen readers and hiring systems can read.
- If you want, you can pick the optional "Accessible" template: 12 pt text in Atkinson Hyperlegible, black only, no italics or capitals, and contact details as a list.
Accessibility panel
The "Accessibility" button at the top of every page opens a panel where you can:
- enlarge text to 115, 130 or 150%;
- turn on high contrast (7:1);
- switch to a font designed for reading, which helps with dyslexia and low vision;
- underline all links, enlarge the cursor and pause animations;
- use a reading guide that follows the mouse.
Your choices are saved on this device only and never change the downloaded resume. The Portuguese pages also offer VLibras, a Brazilian Sign Language translator.
Voice
In the editor, "Listen to resume" reads your resume aloud with your browser's voices. Long text fields have a "Dictate" button that turns your speech into text. See the privacy policy for how dictation audio is handled.
Known limitations
- Dictation only works in browsers with speech recognition, such as Chrome, Edge and Safari. Firefox does not show the button.
- On narrow screens, the template strip scrolls sideways.
- The PDF comes from the browser's print feature, so it can differ slightly between browsers.
- The resume preview is visual only. To check the content with a screen reader, use the form or "Listen to resume".
