About Compressor

Compressor is a free tool to make images lighter. The idea is simple: compress photos without installing software, without creating an account and without sending files to someone else's server.

How it's built

Everything runs in your browser. The page opens each image with the browser's own decoder, applies the rotation, scales it to the chosen size and encodes the new file in a separate process, two images at a time, without freezing the page. There's no database of your photos, because they never reach us.

How it stays free

With Google AdSense ads, shown in spaces separate from the tool. You choose whether ads can be personalized; the choice is in the "Cookies" link in the footer. Details in the privacy policy.

Who makes it

Compressor is part of tools.codes, a set of free tools made in Brazil by a software developer. Suggestions, problems and feature requests are welcome.
