About GifCut

GifCut is a free tool to turn video clips into GIFs. The idea is simple: make a GIF without installing software, without creating an account and without sending the file to someone else's server.

How it works

Everything runs in your browser. The page uses the browser's own video player to step through the clip, scales each frame to the size you chose and builds the GIF in a separate process, so the page doesn't freeze. There is no database of your videos, because they never reach us.

How it's funded

By Google AdSense ads, shown in spaces kept apart from the tool. You choose whether ads may be personalized; the choice lives in the "Cookies" link in the footer. Details in the privacy policy.

Who makes it

GifCut is part of tools.codes, a set of free tools made in Brazil by a software developer. Suggestions, bug reports and feature requests are welcome.
